MCOLES
Approved Training
Defensive
Tactics / Subject Control
Our
training progams have gone through many
changes over the years and have evolved
into the most realistic, cutting edge, reality
based training programs in the state. Defensive
Tactics and Subject Control Training by
RFT (Reasonable Force Training) is a combination
of mental and physical discipline, proper
decision making, and academic excellence.
Officers learn practical
and effective techniques to control subjects
from the lowest level of resistance to the
highest level of aggression. Our training
has moved away from "Choreographed"
Defensive Tactics Training into Full Force,
Outcome Based Training. By the time officers
complete many of our D.T. Programs, they
will have successfully
defended themselves against numerous violent
all-out assaults, in many cases physically
bringing the subject into a position of
control without ever
having had to strike the subject to gain
compliance and control. The current training
programs taught by RFT fulfill the training
objectives and performance outcomes mandated
by MCOLES.
If You Fail to Prepare... Prepare to FAIL!
Reasonable
Force Training takes training out of the
classroom and into the real world!
Throughout
many of our programs, training is conducted
in a number of real world settings. Handcuffing,
arrest, and control tactics are completed
in parking lots, in and around vehicles,
and in other real world settings. Conducting
training scenarios in these realistic settings
provide environmental anchors and cues,
to better prepare officers for the reality
of their work environment.
